To study objects that you can barely see with the naked eye. Through a microscope you can see a huge magnification in the object under the microscope
Binoculars are available in various types and sizes. You can divide them in porro- and roof prism binoculars. The difference lies in the positioning of the lenses and prisms. Porro binoculars have a wider housing, but generally gives a better picture. In roof prism binoculars the placement of prisms requires extreme precision. This makes you look straight through the binoculars. Therefore they are more compact than Porro binoculars.
Each pair of binoculars is indicated by a pair of numbers, for example, 8x50. The first number represents the magnification, the object is eight times closer. The second number relates to the diameter of the lens in millimeters. The larger the number, the more light falls through the lens. Larger lenses are used in low light conditions. However, the larger the magnification, the narrower the field of view. The difference in price range is determined inter alia by the lens quality. The more expensive binoculars are additionally provided with nitrogen to prevent condensation.
