Ultra-compact, professional palm-sized 4K XA series camcorder with 20x optical zoom. The XA40 has a 1/2.3 CMOS sensor and a DIGIC DV6 image processor. Together with oversampling HD image processing, this results in improved Full HD image quality.
The XA40 is equipped with a 20x optical zoom lens and a wide-angle of 29.3 mm. The combination of a 4K 1/2.3 CMOS sensor and DIGIC DV6 image processor delivers high-quality 4K UHD images and superior Full HD images thanks to oversampling HD image processing. Support for recording in MP4 UHD 150 Mbps at 25P and Full HD 35 Mbps/17 Mbps at 50P/25P. Capture your images at 20x optical zoom with a wide-angle from 29.3 mm. Image consistency is ensured by a powerful 5-axis image stabilizer, while the 3D structure for real-time lens groups supports the use of wide-angle zoom.
The XA40 is equipped with an infrared mode, allowing users to record videos in low-light or low-light conditions. There is an option for recording in white or green mode. Customise the way you shoot to suit your project with the ability to record continuously in both UHD and Full HD Slow and Fast motion modes at a maximum speed of 1200x.
Weighing less than 1.2kg, the XA40 features a 3.0-inch LCD touch screen for intuitive operation. The highly portable camcorder also supports linear PCM 4-channel audio, with a built-in stereo microphone and two XLR connectors. In addition, two SD memory card slots are available for simultaneous recording or relay recording.
