This Ilford Multigrade 12 Filter (8.9x8.9cm) Set is a collection of twelve multigrade filters that can be used to control contrast on multigrade and variable contrast monochrome photo paper. A magenta filter absorbs green light and emits blue. A yellow filter absorbs blue light and emits green. This way, images can be made with high and low contrast. The twelve multigrade filters are numbered from 00 to 5 in half steps. The lowest filter number corresponds to the softest contrast. The filters can be used above or below the lens and can be cut to size. Multigrade filters are easy to use; When changing filters, no complicated calculations are required. The exposure time for filters 00 to 3 1/2 is the same; the time for filters 4 and 5 is double.
