An L bracket for portrait photography
The advantage of an L bracket is that you can rearrange your camera to be vertically on the tripod, without having to tilt the ball head. Because the position of the ball head does not change, the camera remains perpendicular on the tripod. As a result, the weight of the camera is better distributed, which increases stability. When you're photographing with a regular quick release plate in the vertical position, the camera is hanging next to the ball head. This can make the whole thing unstable, because the weight is concentrated on one side. That is why an L bracket is excellent to use for portrait photography.
Choose an L bracket that fits your camera
When you're using an L bracket, you want to be able to still use all the functions of your camera. That's why it's important to choose a bracket that is suitable for your type of camera. That way, you can still access all functionalities such as buttons and inputs.
