Description
Sony A7R Mark IV A Body
R stands for resolution at Sony. The Sony A7R Mark IV A has a resolution of 61 megapixels. Plus, it features an innovative 35mm CMOS sensor and a powerful BIONZ X processor. These both ensure you enjoy high resolution, low noise, a 15-stop dynamic range and high ISO sensitivity. By default this is 100-32000, but you can extend it to 50-102.400.
The 5-axis image stabilisation is attained by an algorithm that communicates with your FE lens. This is great for photographers and videographers alike. Yielding stable and sharp images. Plus, with a mirrorless camera you aren't hindered by a folding mirror that makes a noise. This allows you to shoot silently, which in turn adds to the spontaneity of your photos. People and animals will no longer be startled when you want to take a picture of them.
The difference between the Sony A7R IV and the Sony A7R IV A is the adjustable screen on the camera. Where the Sony A7R Mark IV uses 1,440,000 pixels, the A version has been upgraded to 2,359,296 million pixels. This is a vast improvement, allowing you to see more sharpness, detail and colours. Furthermore, the LCD screen has the ability to quickly and easily move through the menu and adjust your focus.
The Sony A7R Mark IV A is ideal for filmmakers looking for a more manageable model. Besides the option to film in 4K over the full width of the sensor, you can also use S-Log2 and S-Log3. These picture profiles are renowned for their large dynamic range of up to 15 stops. This gives you full control over your images in post-processing. Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) is also available on the A7R IV to support an Instant HDR workflow. Plus, you can use the ECM-B1M Shotgun Microphone or the XLR Adapter Kit (sold separately) during recording to record high-quality sound with minimal loss of quality.
Sony's autofocus is a much-praised feature. Not only is this accurate due to the 567 focus points, but it is also easy to adjust during shooting with a single tap on the screen. You also have real-time eye autofocus. This autofocus finds and holds the eye of humans and animals, even when in motion. Never miss a moving subject or moment again.
As a professional, you'll also appreciate the battery life and quick storage of your photo or film material. Sony uses an NP-FZ100 battery. This has a large capacity, so you can shoot for long periods of time. Plus, you want your images to be stored properly, and preferably as quickly as possible. For this, the Sony A7R IV A uses two media slots for SD cards. Meaning you can use two UHS-I or UHS-II cards. The card slots are behind a slide-locking cover, which protects them against external influences, and stops you accidentally opening the cover.
You need a technically good camera on the inside, but also full protection on the outside. That is why Sony has opted to provide the camera with improved, durable dust & moisture-resistant housing. The camera is constructed of extremely lightweight and durable magnesium alloy and also has an improved extra rigid lens mount. With an extra seal at all camera seams, the battery compartment and media slots, you can be sure to get the best photos with this camera, whatever the weather conditions.
