Everything you need to know about spotting scopes
You want to buy a spotting scope. But choosing one from the diverse range available can be tricky. Do you have something in mind already? Great! Still undecided? If so, we are on hand to help you find the right scope for you.
What is a spotting scope?
A spotting scope is the ideal middle ground between binoculars and a telescope (stargazer). A monocular often features high grade optics and a larger objective lens. You will enjoy a magnification factor of 20x to 90x. And, changing the magnification factor is easy using the removable eyepieces. Whatever the distance you're at, you can get the tiniest detail into close focus.
Why a spotting scope?
People buy a spotting scope when they want to see birds, wildlife or aeroplanes from a great distance away. Binoculars can fall short and a telescope is rather unwieldy. A spotting scope gives you a fantastically high magnification factor. Moreover, it's easy to mount onto a tripod. Ideal for when you're hunkering down in one spot for a while.
