To reduce chromatic aberration and colour fringing for improved clarity and colour neutrality, the 24mm f/1.8 AF lens uses three extra-low dispersion elements, two high-refractive-index elements, and two aspherical elements.

An 11-blade aperture delivers a pleasing background blur in the out-of-focus areas of the image, resulting in a more flattering picture. Combined with the bright maximum aperture of f/1.8, this gives you more precise control over depth of field, making it easier to isolate your subject.
