The Artisan & Artist ACAM 318 Sazanami Silk strap in black/red is a camera strap made from silk braiding, cherished as a stylish accessory for traditional Japanese clothing. This strap is made from a wide braid called "Sasanami-gumi". The "sasanami pattern" is one of the representative designs for kimonos, also known as the "Michinaga pattern", as it was a favourite design of Michinaga Fujiwara, a powerful court noble from the Heian period (794–1185). This traditional and distinctive sasanami pattern, used as high-quality decoration for kimonos such as obijime, is used as the pattern for the silk bands.

The leather and hand stitching used to attach the strap to the camera (root leather) are kept simply all-black to accentuate the unique band design. In addition to feeling comfortable against the skin, as only silk can, it has a moderate amount of stretch and can be wrapped around the hand. It is an item that combines ease of use with a fashionable appearance.

This silk strap is available in two lengths: this is the longer version, suitable for wearing diagonally across the body.

Please note: this is a ring strap for cameras with lug-type eyelets. It is not compatible with eyelets for cameras with tape-type eyelets.
