The card features a 6G-SDI connection (compatible with SD, HD, and 3G variants) and an HDMI 2.0 connection, allowing you to connect to professional broadcast equipment and displays, or to consumer monitors and televisions.

A wide range of video codecs are supported, including H.264, Apple ProRes, AVC-Intra, and more, enabling you to play back virtually any project at full resolution. Thanks to broad software support — including Blackmagic Design's own DaVinci Resolve and Fusion, as well as other popular platforms such as Apple's Final Cut Pro X, Avid's Media Composer, and Adobe's Premiere and After Effects CC — you can use the same hardware across changing workflows.

The card itself requires a free PCI Express slot meeting at least the PCI-E 2.0 x4 specification. PCI-E x8 and x16 slots in both 2.0 and 3.0 variants can also be used. A full-height bracket is included, as is a low-profile bracket for installation in a compact PC or external enclosure.
