The Panasonic Lumix S9 works seamlessly with your smartphone. You can create your own so-called 'signature presets' on your phone — specific colour styles you've crafted in advance. By transferring these to the S9, you can apply them directly to your photos and videos as you shoot, saving you time in post-processing. In addition to creating your own presets, you can also download presets via the LUMIX Lab app. Getting your shots onto your smartphone is quick and easy, thanks to improved connection speed and stability. This is made possible by a new recording format: MP4 Lite — an Open Gate video mode optimised for smartphones. Your photo or video can be online within 30 seconds, exactly the way you want it.
Extend your reach with crop and hybrid zoom
You can expand the zoom range of the Panasonic S9 while maintaining image quality, using the crop zoom function and the hybrid zoom function. The crop zoom function uses the centre of the camera sensor to extend the standard zoom range. The hybrid zoom function combines both optical and crop zoom to increase the focal length even further.

The Panasonic LUMIX S 18mm f/1.8 is a super wide-angle lens with a 100° angle of view. Thanks to this wide field of view, the lens is well suited to a variety of applications, including landscape, astrophotography, and architectural photography. A minimum focusing distance of just 0.18 metres also opens up more possibilities for close-up shooting. The optical construction consists of 13 lens elements in 12 groups, including three aspherical lenses, three ED (Extra-Low Dispersion) lenses, one UED (Ultra Extra-Low Dispersion) lens, and one UHR (Ultra High Refractive Index) lens. The three aspherical lenses deliver superior image performance, while the three ED lenses suppress chromatic aberration. In addition, the large maximum aperture of f/1.8 with nine aperture blades produces beautiful bokeh effects. The lens operates smoothly and quietly with the camera's fast autofocus system, as digital signals between the camera and lens are exchanged at up to 240 fps. When focusing manually, the focus point shifts by a variable amount in non-linear mode, depending on the speed at which the focus ring is turned. In linear mode, the focus point shifts by a fixed amount based on how far the focus ring is rotated. When recording video, a mechanism within the lens suppresses focus breathing. Combined with micro-step aperture control for smooth exposure adjustment, this makes professional-quality video recording possible. Thanks to its compact design and low weight of 340 grams, the LUMIX S 18mm f/1.8 is easy to take anywhere. The robust, dust- and splash-resistant construction is also capable of withstanding harsh conditions down to -10 degrees Celsius.
