This Pentax KF is a compact, weatherproof and dustproof DSLR camera, specially designed for all types of outdoor photography.
Despite being a "standard class" camera, the Pentax KF has features you normally find in the higher end. For example, the camera features an optical viewfinder with a field-of-view of nearly 100% and an in-body shake-reduction system. You also enjoy excellent image quality thanks to the CMOS sensor with 24.24 effective megapixels and fast 14-bit readout of image data. High colour accuracy and resolution are achieved with Pentax's proprietary Pixel Shift Resolution System. This system takes four shots of one scene, with each shot shifting the sensor one pixel. Then these recordings are merged, resulting in a high-quality image.
These high-quality features come together in a rugged, compact body that lets you get out even in extreme situations. The body can withstand rain and dust, as well as temperatures down to -10 °C. You can always hold this body firmly thanks to its excellent grip, even with gloves on. The tiltable LCD screen allows you to shoot from a variety of angles. It is also possible to adjust the brightness and temperature of the screen, so you can still work comfortably in the dark.

The Pentax 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 AL WR is a zoom lens that features a newly designed, simplified, weatherproof construction that offers excellent reliability in a variety of outdoor conditions. This standard zoom lens covers focal lengths from 27.5 mm wide-angle to 84.5 mm medium telephoto (in 35 mm format). With a high-performance aspherical (AL) optical element and a super-low dispersion glass optical element incorporated into the optics, it provides excellent shooting resolution and remarkable clarity even at the edges, while efficiently correcting various aberrations.
The front surface of this lens is treated with PENTAX's original SP (Super Protect) coating, which applies a special fluoride compound to the lens surface through a vapour process. This SP coating not only effectively repels dust, but also makes it easy to wipe off fingerprints and cosmetics.
This lens has been optimised by Pentax with regard to the curvature and positioning of optical elements, to create the finest digital images possible. As a result, your images are virtually free of flare and ghosting. Once your subject is captured in focus by the camera's AF system, the unique quick-shift focus system allows you to instantly switch to manual focus for final adjustments.
