SmallRig 5588 Cage Kit for Sony FX2
The SmallRig 5588 Cage Kit for Sony FX2 is expertly designed to provide comprehensive protection and extended mounting options, while improving the grip comfort of the XLR handle. This kit includes a cage, a top plate, an XLR handle extension, a wrist strap, an HDMI cable clip and an Allen key.
The cage features precise cutouts and ensures that the camera's tilting electronic viewfinder (EVF), buttons and ports remain fully accessible for smooth operation. The XLR handle extension improves comfort with a larger grip surface and features integrated 1/4"-20 screw holes for attaching monitor mounts and other accessories.
The removable top plate features a NATO rail, suitable for Sony's XLR handle or SmallRig's swivel handle (SmallRig ID 4152) without interfering with the electronic viewfinder. The cage features multiple mounting points, including 1/4"-20 screw holes, 3/8"-16 ARRI mounting holes and a "HawkLock" NATO rail for quick attachment of optional accessories such as side handles (SmallRig ID 4485) and top handles (SmallRig ID 4483). A coldshoe attachment allows attaching devices such as the DJI Mic 2 or LED lights, while a QD connector at the bottom accommodates shoulder straps for enhanced portability. The base is also equipped with a magnetic Allen key, allowing quick assembly and disassembly.
The lower quick-release plate, combined with the "HawkLock" The H38 Arca-Swiss quick-release plate (SmallRig ID 4486) provides quick mounting with an automatic locking mechanism. It also allows seamless transitions between handheld, tripod and gimbal setups (compatible with DJI RS 2 / RSC 2 / RS 3 / RS 3 Pro / RS 4 / RS 4 Pro stabilisers). In addition, an included HDMI cable clip ensures stable data transfer.
