The Tamron 12-20mm f/2.8 is a professional ultra-wide-angle zoom with an ultra-wide focal range from 12mm to 20mm, specifically developed for Nikon Z mount full-frame cameras. At 12mm, you capture the full scope of a scene in a single frame, delivering a dynamic and immersive image. Thanks to the fast f/2.8 aperture across the entire zoom range, you work effortlessly in low light, making the lens the tool of choice for professional astrophotography and interior photography.

The optical system consists of 17 elements in 12 groups, including one XGM element, three GM elements, one XLD element, and three LD elements. This construction effectively suppresses edge softness and colour fringing and corrects flare with remarkable precision, so stars remain sharply and clearly defined even in the extreme corners of the frame. The 12-blade circular aperture delivers soft, round bokeh at near-maximum aperture. Ideal for night shots and cityscapes. With a minimum focusing distance of 18cm in the wide-angle position, you also capture impressive close-up shots that combine a magnified foreground with a sweeping background.

The lens features an adjustment ring for aperture or exposure compensation, customisable switches, a focus-set button, and a USB-C connection for use with Tamron LINK and the Tamron Lens Utility software. The integrated rear filter holder is suitable for gel and sheet filters, letting you work with a variety of filters. Thanks to the fast, quiet VXD autofocus mechanism and the dedicated MF Lock switch, the lens is also well suited for astrophotographers. The moisture-resistant construction and fluorine coating on the front lens element keep the lens protected in challenging conditions.
