The Ricoh GRIIIx is a digital compact camera with a GR lens with 40mm angle of view in 35mm format for snapshots, travel and street photography. The compact, lightweight body has a professional image quality. Depending on how the lens is used, this versatile angle of view can create different imaging: you can capture an image similar to one shot at a 30mm semi-wide angle, or create a completely different visual expression. The camera also offers a range of new and improved photo editing features. 

The GR IIIX features a high-resolution APS C-format CMOS image sensor with a wide dynamic range. So, printing in large format isn't an issue. The GR lens features unique optical technology. The lens consists of 7 elements and 5 groups, has a focal distance of 26.1 mm and an aperture of F2.8. Both the image sensor and the lens are optimised for the best possible image quality. 

The camera has a new image processor: GR Enginge 6. It improves the GR's essential high image quality performance for enhanced detailing. Faster processing enables the combination of a high-resolution sensor and multi-tone 14-bit RAW. This also contributes to improved response and functionality for autofocus and video.

The GR IIIx features a powerful "Accelerator Unit", a powerful processor that guarantees high image quality. The signal delivered by the image sensor is sent to the image processor after optimal processing. This reduces noise and provides superior resolution and colour rendering across the entire sensitivity range. It also allows for shooting at ISO 102400.

Camera shake is reduced for sharper images, even with split-second snapshots. Motion Reduction (SR) has been installed without detracting from its compactness. It minimises vibrations on three axles, including roll, horizontal and vertical tilt. These compensation effects yield as much as 4 steps of the shutter speed if longer than 1/1000 second.
