The Sony A6400 is an EISA award-winning camera with fast autofocus of just 0.02 seconds, improved Eye Autofocus and newly developed Real-time Tracking. It features a 24.2 megapixel APS-C Exmor CMOS sensor and a BIONZ X image processor, so you can count on high-quality photos and videos.
The A6400 has a screen that tilts 180 degrees, with Touch Focus, Touch Shutter and Touch Pad AF. This lets you choose the focus point you want and operate the camera with ease. The 425 contrast-detection AF points and phase-detection AF cover 84% of the frame. Even with moving subjects, this delivers reliable focusing and tracking. The camera uses artificial intelligence (AI) based object recognition to detect and process eye data in real time. This gives the Eye AF excellent accuracy, speed and tracking performance. Subjects can be locked on by Real-time Tracking, which is also based on a new algorithm built on artificial intelligence (AI) object recognition. Colors, depth and brightness are processed as spatial information.
The Sony A6400 is also very well suited to video, as it can record in 4K (3840 x 2160 pixels). Thanks to Fast Hybrid AF technology, you can focus quickly and stably while filming. This mirrorless camera also has the HLG picture profile (Hybrid Log-Gamma) built in. The α6400 supports a direct HDR workflow, so HDR (HLG) compatible TVs can play back lifelike 4K HDR footage.
The Sony A6400 also has eight custom buttons, to each of which you can assign one of 89 functions as you like. It has a dust- and moisture-resistant magnesium alloy body, which makes it very durable in use. With the Imaging Edge Mobile app, the camera is also easy to control from a smartphone or tablet. The Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN Contemporary is a standard zoom lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras, and thanks to its wide 27-75mm zoom range in 35mm equivalent it is highly versatile.
This Sigma zoom lens is ideal for both photo and video use, such as capturing landscapes or events, but also for portraits and architectural photography. The lens is also extremely well suited to macro-style close-up photography, thanks to a maximum magnification of 1:2.8 and a minimum focusing distance of 12.1 cm. You can also shoot in low light without any trouble, thanks to the large f/2.8 aperture across the entire zoom range.
The lens features three high-precision aspherical elements which, together with a minimal number of lens elements, ensure you enjoy superior optical quality.
