Buying a thermal imaging camera, what should you look for?
When buying a thermal imaging camera, there are a few things to look for. To start with, it's important to determine how close you can and want to get to your subject — this determines the resolution you'll need. If you prefer to stay further away, it's handy to pick a higher resolution to get a sharp image. Then look at the field of view, how sensitive the thermal imaging camera is and — if you'll be going outside — how well it can take a knock. Finally, also check how you can edit the photos afterwards, as this varies from camera to camera.
Thermal imaging camera for your phone
You can also turn your phone into a thermal imaging camera, simply by adding an attachment. For Android and iOS, plug it into the charging port and download an app, and you instantly turn your phone into a thermal imaging camera.
