Blackmagic Design SmartView 4K G3
The Blackmagic Design SmartView 4K G3 is the first Ultra HD broadcast monitor with both 12G-SDI and SMPTE-2110 IP video inputs. The SmartView 4K G3 can connect directly to IP-based broadcast systems and to a range of 12G-SDI professional video equipment up to 2160p60, making it perfect for broadcast and live production. It includes AC and 12V DC power connections, 3D LUTs and monitoring controls such as focus peaking, H/V delay, blue only and framing guides.
The SmartView 4K G3 features built-in optical and copper SMPTE-2110 IP video links, so you can connect directly to IP-based broadcast systems. You also get two 12G-SDI inputs for connecting to a wide range of professional video equipment. In addition, both the 12G-SDI and 2110 video inputs can be output to a 12G-SDI loop output jack. The design still features a lightweight machined aluminium chassis and a full-resolution Ultra HD LCD. On-screen overlays include focus peaking, framing guides, safe area and more. You also get built-in 3D LUTs for adding creative looks, converting log film gamma or handling custom HDR profiles.
The SmartView 4K is ideal for broadcast as it supports both 12G-SDI and 2110 IP up to 2160p60. Switch between SDI and IP at the touch of a button! SmartView 4K tracks video input and thus automatically switches between all SD, HD or Ultra HD standards!
For live production, it is essential to have a ??solution with features to accurately monitor cameras. Powerful camera functions include focus peaking, zoom, aspect ratio markers and tally. Plus, the 4K screen allows you to see incredibly fine camera image details.
Fly Away kits should be portable and sturdy! The SmartView 4K is made of lightweight aluminium, so light, and is only a few inches deep, allowing great rack ventilation via natural convection. Moreover, it has many camera and technical monitoring features!
The SmartView 4K has an incredibly strong machined aluminium metal design with clean lines. The design is anodised in deep black, so it looks great mounted in equipment racks with other Blackmagic Design equipment! What's more, SmartView 4K is only a few inches deep. As monitors are often installed at the top of equipment racks, this thin design provides a large area behind the monitor to better ventilate the entire rack and keep all equipment cool. Along the bottom of the SmartView 4K is a series of buttons that are slightly tilted to make them easier to press. At the back of the monitor are all the video connections, plus there is even a VESA mounting point!
The LCD screen used on the SmartView 4K has extremely high resolution, so every pixel is displayed in an Ultra HD image. That means you get an incredibly bright picture with deep colour fidelity. To avoid messy fingerprints on the LCD, the SmartView 4K has a row of buttons on the bottom of the screen, so you can adjust all monitor controls without touching the screen. The SmartView 4K is designed for broadcasting, so it instantly locks onto a new video source, which is very common when the monitor is connected to a router and input can constantly change to different timed sources. Unlike TVs, the video is not overscanned, so you get all the image pixels right to the edge of the LCD.
