Quick Release means you can mount your camera or video camera onto a tripod or head quickly, without losing precious time. Quick-release plates are small plates that are screwed to the bottom of your camera or video camera, after which your camera (with the plate attached to the base) can simply and efficiently be clicked onto the head or into the quick-release adapter. Although this quick method may seem unsafe, nothing could be further from the truth: your camera or video camera is firmly and securely attached to the tripod or head once you have locked the plate in place!

Gitzo release plates come in 3 different profiles (A, B and C). Each profile is divided into different sizes (small, medium and long) and with different options (tested, anti-rotation pin) and fixings (1/4 inch or 3/8 inch).

In the new collection, 1/4" and 3/8" plates have been made with 2 screws for both 1/4" and 3/8". Having two screws available is ideal, especially for long adapter plates when heavy equipment or long lenses are being used. It is a general rule to use the largest fixing possible, but even when the smaller ones must be used, Gitzo guarantees a high safety standard.
