Kite Optics APC Stabilized 22x50 ED AA

With a magnification of 22x and active image stabilisation, these binoculars offer a level of detail that directly overlaps with the working range of compact spotting scopes — yet in a handy two-eyed instrument weighing just around one kilogram.

Where a spotting scope requires a tripod, offers only monocular vision, and takes time to set up, the APC 22x50 is ready to use instantly. Observers can track moving subjects, scan terrain, and retain depth perception thanks to binocular vision, all at a magnification that was previously impractical without stable support.

Kite Optics' patented KT 3.0 image stabilisation system, powered by the second-generation KDGS-2 gyroscopic sensor platform, compensates for hand tremor in real time with a correction angle of 2 degrees. At 22x magnification, even minor movements are significantly amplified — and thanks to the stabilisation system, this magnification is perfectly usable without a tripod.

The optical system uses ED (Extra-low Dispersion) glass elements with Kite Optics' MHR Advance+ multi-layer coatings, achieving a light transmission of 86 per cent. Chromatic aberration is effectively minimised across the entire field of view, resulting in a sharp, high-contrast image, even at the edges. The field of view is 54 m at 1,000 m.

The APC 22x50 ED AA runs on two standard AA batteries, providing up to 38 hours of stable use. AA batteries are available virtually everywhere and can be replaced within seconds, with no dependence on a charging point. The housing is IPX7 waterproof and resistant to submersion to a depth of one metre. The internal optics are nitrogen-filled to prevent condensation. The operating temperature range is between -20 and +55 degrees Celsius.
