The Leica 11160 APO-SUMMICRON-M 50mm f/2 ASPH. in Metal Gray Paint finish is a special edition of one of the most renowned standard lenses for the Leica M system. With a maximum aperture of f/2, you can shoot even in challenging lighting conditions with full control over depth of field and smooth bokeh. Thanks to the apochromatic correction with three special glass elements and two high-refractive elements, red, green and blue wavelengths converge at the same focal point, resulting in virtually no colour fringing and consistent sharpness and colour accuracy across the entire image. The aspherical lens element reduces spherical aberrations for edge-to-edge sharpness, while the floating element ensures uniform sharpness throughout the focusing range from 70 cm.

The lens was specially developed to complement the Leica M11-P Metal Gray and features a metallic grey finish on both the lens barrel and front lens cap, with subtle red engravings on the distance scale and aperture scale as a refined detail. Suitable for portrait, documentary, reportage, street and fine art photography, its compact size and manual focus with focus tab provide the direct shooting experience that is characteristic of Leica M photography. The built-in retractable lens hood protects the front lens element from flare, while the solid brass and aluminium housing is handcrafted in Germany.
