RODE TFM-50 Microphone

The Rode TFM-50 omnidirectional tube microphone was designed in collaboration with classical music producer and Grammy Award winner Tony Faulkner. The microphone was specially developed for use in concert halls and can be mounted high above the orchestra. The spherical capsule offers a smooth low and mid-frequency response, ensuring there is no sound distortion. The TFM-50 has a frequency range of 2kHz to 15kHz, making it extremely sensitive. Because the TFM-50 is more directional in its frequencies, recordings can be made with great focus, and instruments positioned far away will still be clearly audible.

A hybrid circuit comprising, among other components, a TR2 transformer and 6922 tube stage pre-amplifies the signal captured by the spherical HF5 capsule. The accompanying power supply accommodates two microphones and features a locking power connector, two twelve-pin microphone inputs, two balanced outputs, and a headphone output.
