SIGMA 50-120mm f/2.8 DC OS Contemporary - Canon RF-mount

The SIGMA 50-120mm f/2.8 DC OS Contemporary is a telephoto zoom for APS-C Canon RF-mount cameras and, in crop mode, on a full-frame camera. The lens has a focal length of 50-120mm, equivalent to approximately 75-180mm on full-frame. This lets you shoot portraits as well as photos that call for more zoom range.

The constant f/2.8 aperture makes for a fast lens with which you can shoot in changing, challenging conditions. This ensures the lens's brightness is maintained regardless of the zoom range you shoot at, and gives you beautiful background blur. The optical construction of 18 elements in 13 groups combines one FLD glass element, three SLD glass elements, and four aspherical elements. These glass elements deliver sharpness from edge to edge and correct optical aberrations for very high contrast. The 11-blade rounded aperture creates a beautiful round bokeh. With a minimum focusing distance of 23cm at the wide-angle end and a magnification of up to 1:3, you also photograph details up close.

The lens is equipped with an HLA linear motor for fast autofocus and an OS2 stabilisation algorithm that delivers up to 6.5 stops of image stabilisation at 50mm and 4.5 stops at 120mm, so your image and composition stay stable. The switches for focus mode and image stabilisation have deliberately been left out, giving the lens clear and intuitive controls.

The lens weighs 390 grams and is 99 millimetres long, making for a compact telephoto zoom lens. For outdoor use, the construction is dust- and splash-resistant and the front element has a water- and oil-repellent coating. The lens is not waterproof, so avoid large amounts of water splashing onto the lens. It is the lens for photographers who want to take a lightweight telephoto zoom on their travels for their APS-C cameras or full-frame cameras in crop mode.
