The fast maximum aperture of f/1.4 is highly suitable when working in low-light conditions and also offers greater control over the focus position. The 9 aperture blades are designed to create a near-circular aperture opening. This produces a beautifully smooth bokeh. The lens construction is designed to correct chromatic aberrations across the entire focusing range. This ensures very sharp, clear, and high-contrast images, regardless of the focus point or aperture setting. The optical design also helps to control distortion and vignetting.

The lens is further equipped with a Hyper Sonic AF motor, which provides fast, quiet, and accurate autofocus, as well as a large focus ring that allows you to focus manually by simply turning the focus ring at any time.
