The Tiffen 77mm Black Pro-Mist 1/8 MCS filter helps reduce highlights whilst slightly lowering overall image contrast. This filter with Magnetic Control System (MCS) is particularly useful for softening wrinkles and other facial imperfections in film and video productions, but can also be used for fashion and beauty photography. Unlike traditional diffusion or soft-focus filters, Pro-Mist filters cause minimal loss of detail in the image. Filters with a strength of 1/8 reduce contrast and highlights less than filters with a strength of 1/4, whilst still maintaining a soft, pastel-like quality of light.

This filter is part of Tiffen's Magnetic Control System (MCS), which allows filters to be swapped instantly rather than being slowly and laboriously screwed on and off as with conventional filters. This saves valuable time during spontaneous shoots. Each filter features a magnetic mounting ring that allows it to be attached quickly and securely to the front of a lens without any tools. The filter set comes with a magnetic front cap to protect the filter and lens, and a magnetic rear cap to protect the filter when not in use.
