Urth Lens Hood Kit for Leica Summicron 35mm Black
The Lens Hood Kit has been developed exclusively for the Leica Summicron-M 35mm f/2 ASPH lens (Type II, 2016+). The fit closely follows the shape of the lens, ensuring the hood sits firmly and is optically correctly aligned. With dimensions of 5.94 x 6.79 x 3.05 cm (including cap) and a weight of just 57.68 grams, your setup stays compact and easy to handle.
The kit consists of a threaded adapter ring that screws directly onto the lens, plus a lens hood that clicks onto the adapter via a twist-lock bayonet connection. This keeps the hood perfectly aligned with the lens at all times, and releases again in a single motion — a sense of precision and quality that matches the Leica experience.
The lens hood blocks unwanted stray light from the frame and keeps flares under control, delivering higher-contrast shots in backlit conditions. At the same time, it acts as a first line of defence against knocks and the elements — indispensable when you're out and about with a valuable Leica lens.
The kit is crafted from 6063 aluminium, an alloy that offers a great balance between strength and weight. The slim design prevents vignetting at 35mm and doesn't compromise the pocketability of the Leica M. The Lens Hood Kit is available in silver — a perfect match for Leica's classic chrome bodies — and in black, for a understated, matte-black look.
Optional thin-frame ND, UV, or CPL filters can be screwed onto the adapter ring. The use of variable ND filters and stacked filters is not recommended, as these may affect the slim fit and optical performance.
