Types of paper
Although the history of paper goes back thousands of years, this material is still extremely important for everyday use today. This includes use in writing, drawing, printing and copying. The types of materials from which paper is made provide a variety of applications. Various paper sizes are available, each suitable for a different application. For example, high-quality photos can be printed in A3 format, while passport photos can be printed on A5 or smaller. A4 is the most common paper format and can therefore often be found in our shop.
In our shop we offer different types of paper, namely:
- Printer and photocopy paper: For use in printers, this type of paper is frequently used, although there are still many differences in quality. For standard documents, you can purchase hundreds of sheets of paper inexpensively, but there are also many higher quality options. The difference in the paper is mainly in the thickness and the contents of the paper. Standard printing paper has a weight of 80 grams, other common weights are 160 and 260 grams.
- Photo paper: Special photo paper is developed for printing photos, brochures and images. This paper usually has a glossy side, but matte photo paper is also available on the market. Numerous sizes and weights are available, with quality increasing as size increases and the colour gamut broader. The choice of certain fibres also ensures that photos become even sharper and more colourful. The weight of photo paper is often more than 200 grams.
