Atomos Shogun 7
The Atomos Shogun 7" monitor/recorder is an on-camera field monitor or recorder for film and video professionals. Thanks to the high quality, you can use this recorder for various purposes such as events, documentaries, broadcast television, and professional cinema productions. You can also use HD-SDI video streams for live connections. This 7.2" monitor is therefore perfectly suitable for focus pullers, cinematographers, and directors.
The Shogun 7 can record up to 4K 60p images from any camera on the market via HDMI 2.0v. This can be done via Quad Link, Dual Link, or Single Link. You can even record 5.7K DCI 30p images with the suitable Panasonic cinema cameras. If you want to record slow motion images, that's also possible! 2K quality to a frame rate of up to 240 fps. You can add tags to your recordings while recording, so you can immediately get going in Final Cut Pro X, Adobe Premiere, or Avid Media Composer later.
This powerful monitor features Dynamic AtomHDR technology. This provides an image contrast ratio of no less than 1,000,000:1. As a result, the Shotgun 7 delivers the best colours with clear and deep contrasts. The combination of LED and LCD technologies makes this possible and delivers better black tones than OLED screens. Atomos thus provides images that are almost identical to observations by the human eye.
A 360-zone backlight behind the screen provides astonishing clarity. 1500cd/m2, with 15+ stops dynamic range. The colours cover 105% of the DCI-P3 spectrum. You will see the same colours on this recorder as those entering your camera sensor.
If you have a television or monitor with Dolby Vision, you can connect it them to the Shogun 7. The smart software of the Shogun applies settings to the device so you can see the full HDR image. If you need a larger screen for reference while filming, this option is also highly valuable. This works even when recording in ProRes RAW.
The AtomOS 10 platform is packed with useful functions which are processed in a very user-friendly interface. These features include Focus Peaking, Zebra, False Color, Frame Guides, SMPTE Safe Area, Waveform, RGB, Vectorscope, Multi-tool Analysis View, and 4:1/2:1/1:1 Zoom. With all these options, you have even more control over your screen, allowing you to take even better videos and photos!
