Porta Brace RIG-8HKORK RIG Carrying Case Kit XL black
The Porta Brace RIG-8HKORK RIG Carrying Case Kit XL in black is designed to transport large camera rigs, fully assembled or with minimal disassembly of rig components. The frame is made of lightweight hollow-core plastic surrounded by thick foam padding. The unique flared shape of the top is specially designed to accommodate both the removable wheel system at the bottom (narrow) and the large matteboxes or rig handles at the top (wide). The lid folds out to fit over tall handles.
The bottom of the case is lined with soft, non-slip material that ensures the rig does not slide inside the case. There are also two fastening straps that keep the camera rig fully in place during transport. The inner side walls are lined with the soft side of Velcro, allowing Porta-Brace Divider Kits (sold separately) to be placed anywhere in the case.
The outside of the case is made of hard-wearing 1000 denier Cordura. There is a layer of non-slip rubber material along the bottom of the case to add an extra level of waterproofing. The rubber material also makes it easier to remove mud and dirt from the bottom of the housing.
Because large camera rigs are often heavy, the RIG-8HKORK comes with two convenient ways to transport equipment:
- as a comfortable backpack with padded lumbar support
- or as a removable off-road wheel system
The backpack straps and lumbar support pad are lined with breathable mesh for airflow and thick, comfortable padding. There is a chest strap, a waist belt with a large plastic clip and weight adjustment straps to ensure that the case and gear can be carried safely and comfortably on your back.
The off-road wheels feature solid rubber tyres, ball bearings and strong steel axles, allowing the suitcase to roll easily over almost any surface. The wheels can be easily removed and transported separately to avoid snagging, bending or breaking during air travel or in a van.
