Description
SIGMA 35mm F/1.4 DG DN Art L Mount
With the SIGMA 35mm F/1.4 DG DN Art an all-time classic has been given a makeover. With excellent optical performance, fast and silent autofocus and professional features, this prime lens is a valuable piece of kit for any photographer.
This 35 mm lens is part of Sigma's Art series. In fact, this high-end product line started back in 2012 with this lens' predecessor: the 35 mm F/1.4 DG HSM Art. The new version has been completely redesigned for today's mirrorless cameras. It is smaller and lighter, so the camera and lens are perfectly balanced.
Enjoy exceptional sharpness from corner to corner, and at all apertures. Optical aberrations are minimised by its state-of-the-art optical design. The lens contains 15 lens elements in 11 groups, two of which are Special Low Dispersion (SLD) elements, one an Extraordinary Low Dispersion (ELD) element, one an 'F' Low Dispersion (FLD) element, and two aspherical lens elements. The bokeh is beautifully soft and attractive with 11 rounded aperture blades. At F/1.4 the lens is very bright, yet wide-open sagittal coma flare is superbly controlled, and bright points of light to the edge of the image are prevented. The 35 mm lens also performs very well in backlighting as a great deal of attention has been paid to reducing flare and ghosting.
The autofocus system is powered by a stepper motor. This is done very quickly, quietly and responsively, because the motor only controls one lightweight element. Moving subjects are also tracked very effectively.
The lens includes various professional features. An aperture ring ensures you can adjust the aperture on the lens smoothly. To prevent this from happening accidentally, it features a lock switch. The AFL button can be used for various functionalities (depending on the camera body). This button is easy to operate with your thumb whilst shooting. So you can shoot in all weather conditions, the lens has a dust and splash-proof construction, and the front elements have an oil and water-repellent coating.
