The SIGMA 500mm F/5.6 DG DN OS Sports is an ultra-telephoto lens perfect for sports and action photography, but also great for wildlife and aerial photography. Whether you want to shoot from a tripod or handheld, you can do both with the SIGMA 500mm F/5.6 DG DN OS. At 24 cm long and weighing 1370 grams, the lens is lightweight and compact. However, this does not detract from its excellent build quality.
The SIGMA 500mm F/5.6 DG DN OS comprises 20 lens elements divided into 14 groups. Three FLD and two SLD elements minimise lens flare, ghosting and chromatic aberrations. The lens offers high optical performance even with backlighting or when the light source is in the frame.
The autofocus in the SIGMA 500mm F/5.6 DG DN OS is a linear motor-HLA (High-response Linear Actuator). This ensures fast, silent and very accurate autofocus. The lens features the 5-stop optical OS2 stabilisation algorithm and is equipped with two OS modes: one for general shooting and one ideal for panning. This second mode provides effective image stabilisation even when the camera is moved vertically or diagonally.
The lens is equipped with all necessary features, such as an aperture ring with click-and-lock option and three AFL buttons to which specific camera functions can be assigned. The focus switch allows you to limit the autofocus when needed, for quick and precise focusing. The SIGMA 500mm F/5.6 DG DN OS comes with a detachable Arca-Swiss tripod mount. The ring can be snapped in 90-degree increments.
The SIGMA 500mm F/5.6 DG DN OS is dust- and splashproof and has a water- and oil-repellent front coating. This allows you to take it with you on location without any worries.
