Description
The Sigma 50mm F1.4 DG HSM Art Sony E-Mount is a fast and versatile prime lens designed for high optical performance due to the presence of both three special glass elements with a low dispersion and an aspherical element of cast glass. These elements, coupled with an advanced optical design, work together to minimize lens flare and chromatic aberrations to provide high image sharpness and clarity. The large diameter and the floating system of the lens also help to correct vignetting to maintain the peripheral brightness. There is also a Super Multi Coating applied to lens elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for better contrast and better color fastness. In addition, the lens combines the f/1.4 maximum aperture with a rounded diaphragm with nine blades to take advantage of selective focus and shallow depth of field with a smooth bokeh. This makes this lens an ideal lens for portrait photography.
In addition to the image processing capabilities, the lens features a Hyper Sonic engine for fast, smooth and quiet autofocus performance with permanent manual focus acquisition. The physical design uses thermally stable composite material (TSC) for durability in a wide range of environments, and a copper bayonet mount also offers stiffness and precise attachment.
