Sony has taken the full frame mirrorless camera range to a whole new level with the Sony A7 Mark II. The camera features a 5-axis SteadyShot INSIDE image stabilisation system with 4.5-stop compensation for pitch, yaw, horizontal shift, vertical shift and roll. The camera's operation is streamlined with a redesigned grip, shutter-release button and customisable controls. The A7 Mark II also features a moisture & dust resistant design with a magnesium-alloy housing and a more robust lens mount. The A7 Mark II features a sophisticated algorithm and better use of the X BIONZ image processor. It has an improved Fast Hybrid AF system that is about 30% faster than its predecessor, a 5fps continuous-burst autofocus and 40% faster start time. The 24.3 Megapixel sensor ensures high resolution images and low light effectiveness with its standard ISO sensitivity range of 100-25,600. The BIONZ X image processor offers fast processing and exploitation speeds. The front-end LSI enhances the early stages of image processing, resulting in more natural details and richer tones. The 16-bit image processing and 14-bit RAW output retain the data provided by the sensor.

In addition to highly detailed photos with smooth gradations, the A7 Mark II now has access to the high-bit-rate XAVC S format with 60p, 30p and 24p filming capabilities. The appearance of footage can also be adjusted with image profiles, including the addition of the gamma setting S-Log2 with a dynamic range of approximately 1,300% of the standard sRGB spectrum. Time code and user bit settings are available, as well as an HDMI output for a variety of recording options. The innovative Sony Multi-Interface Shoe extends the compatibility options for the flash, microphone and other accessories. The A7 Mark II is compatible with all current APS-C E mount lenses in APS-C crop mode, as well as the new E mount full frame Zeiss and Sony G series lenses. Tripod lens adapters can be used to mount A mount lenses on E mount cameras, and an optional special battery grip enables stable, long shooting times and vertical stability. The Sony A7 Mark II features both a 3 inch tiltable LCD monitor and an OLED electronic viewfinder. The camera also has built-in Wi-Fi connectivity with NFC support for exchanging images from the camera. Plus, the Sony camera can be remotely controlled via paired mobile devices.
